Hokus Pokus

Few things typify my experience of the late-80's like "Hokus Pokus" and "Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac."

The entire directors cut of Pink Floyd Live at Pompei

The whole flick is right here.

Ash Ra Tempel: Suche And Liebe

Great Ash Ra track with some cosmic visuals to accompany it.

From Youtube.com description: 'This is the second half of Ash Ra Tempel's "Suche And Liebe" (German for "search and love"). Off of their 1972 album "Schwingungen". The video is a bunch of clips from a few episodes of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos".'

Rising from the Red Sand

This compilation collects multiple cassettes released originally on Third Mind Records, and is a bootleg, from what I understand. Usually, I don't support downloads, but a download of a bootleg of an otherwise unattainable album isn't nearly as problematic. It's available here.

It features mostly great tracks from Chris & Cosey, Legendary Pink Dots, Konstruktivists, Nurse With Wound, Nocturnal Emissions, Portion Control, David Jackman, Smegma, and a huge favorite of mine, Conrad Schnitzler.

Order the 5 tape set from RRRecords.com, or download at the link above.

Popol Vuh - "Vuh"

The last minutes of this epic second track from their second album, "In den Gärten Pharaos."

Popol Vuh - Ich Mache Einen Spiegel Excerpt

Love these VCO random arpeggiations and/or sample and hold LFOs.

Playlist for this week

"I see the political potential of art in art itself, in the aesthetic form as such ... by virtue of its aesthetic form, art is largely autonomous vis à vis the given social relations. In its autonomy art both protests these relations, and at the same time transcends them. Thereby art subverts the dominant consciousness, the ordinary experience."
-Herbert Marcuse

Klaus Schulze "La Vie Electronique" box sets

Last month, the 7th and 8th volumes of "La Vie Electronique" by Klaus Schulze became available in the states at low prices. You can now easily find volumes 1-8 for under $20 each. Each volume comes with 3 CDs at about 72-80 minutes each, for almost 4 hours of listening on each set. They come with a small booklet in each, with text in English and German, featuring liner notes and information on the recordings.

Information on these box sets available from the Klaus Schulze official website, quoted below:
